I’ve been putting off posting because I’ve gotten bogged down in the end of the academic year over here. This must sound really late to all of my US colleagues, but I swear we’re just about at the end! Marking has a much more formal process here, we have exam boards with the head of the school next week, and that should see the end of grading for me. And the start of a research project that is very sketchbook oriented!
Also, the news is brutal, right? It’s hard to do other things sometimes these days….I wish I had more to offer here, but if sketchbook work and drawing can refresh you, then come here and when you’re ready, back out to fight.
In the meantime, I did manage to sneak out for the inaugural talk of professor Jackie Labbe who writes about Victorian and Romantic literature, and this particular talk was entitled Dead Victorian Children:
Last thing, is I’m also preparing a talk about Drawing as a Way to Learn (as opposed to an outward visual communication) in July. I’m squeezing in little bits of research here and there, and will share some more as it gets closer.
Hang in there everyone!
